Vaccines are among the most successful and cost-effective public health tools. Not only do vaccines prevent the vaccinated individual from developing a potentially serious illness, but they also help protect entire communities by reducing the spread of infectious agents. To assess the knowledge, attitude and perception of vaccine safety among caregivers of paediatric patients. A prospective, questionnaire study was conducted on the sample size of 100 parents/caregivers who visited the study hospital. Study conducted after obtaining approval from the Institutional Ethics Committee of the study hospital during a period of February to April 2024. The KAP questionnaire consisted of 18 questions. Children less than 18 years who had vaccination history were included in the study and those above the specified age groups were excluded from the study. Descriptive statistics like mean and percentage were used to describe the data. SPSS version 10.0 was used for data analysis to represent the association between variables. In the study, on gender ddistribution male children were 52% and female children were 48%. It was found that most of the parents had done primary school education 52% and majority of the caregivers were mothers 68%. Most of the children were immunized with BCG vaccine 94% followed by Polio 79% and Hep A 55%. It was found that majority of the parents were partially aware 65% and few parents were completely aware 12% about the name and schedule of vaccines. The major barrier for less vaccination rate was found to be low awareness 56% and cost of vaccines 20%.We found that the majority of the respondents were having only partial knowledge about vaccination. The reason for this could be poor education and low awareness about immunization and vaccines.
